Letter from the President Dr. Han Soo Lee PRESIDENT I am Dr. Han Soo Lee, President of IGSB. As a specialized graduate school that offers master’s and doctoral degree in biblical theology of the Old and New Testaments, IGSB is an affiliated institution of Hong Kong Life-Road Theological Seminary (HKLTS) accredited by ATA (Asia Theological Association), and it is also accredited by such degree recognition organization as AETA (Association of Educators and Trainers in All-Tribes). It is my great pleasure to invite you to our International Graduate School of Biblical Studies (IGSB).     IGSB is designed to provide a new paradigm of theological education for every student who wants to acquire master’s and doctoral degrees in biblical studies and serve as professors and lecturers in theological seminaries and colleges.   We humbly hope that our students could be better equipped with competent academic knowledge and spiritual understanding of the

  IGSB has a number of distinctives which differentiate it from other on-campus theological seminaries and colleges. These are as follows; First, IGSB is established with the aim of setting up an effective AI platform, allowing students to participate in multilingual lectures and refer to various academic English articles at a low cost through our platform without leaving their pastoral ministries. Second, IGSB aims to discover competent people with academic potentials among students who graduated from various theological college and seminaries throughout the world, to obtain Th.M and Ph.D degrees in biblical theology, and to make them responsible for future theological education in the seminaries of their mission fields. Third, IGSB also plans to offer reeducation program for church pastors and leaders and give them an opportunity to learn the Bible and theology required for ministering their churches. Admission IGSB accepts applications year-round. To begin the online application process, please visit www.igsbs.org and fill out the form after clicking on “Apply Now.“ Our admission staff will respond to the form, and then the rest of application process can be completed online. To apply for study in any of the degree programs of IGSB, the applicant must ordinarily present the following application components: 1. A completed general application form (Online Registration) 2. A letter of recommendation: an ecclesiastical recommendation from the pastor of the church in which the applicant is a member, or an academic recommendation from a college or seminary professor under whose guidance the applicant has pursued studies. Our graduate school will help students to be better equipped with competent academic knowledge and spiritual understanding of the Old and New Testament through our worldwide online platform. Degree Courses (A) ATA or AETA Degree Courses IGSB operates three degree programs in the major of the Old and New Testament in accordance with ATA and AETA regulations as follows: (1) M.A. Course: Students with a B.A. or B.Th. degree from college can enter the M.A. degree course and must complete a total of 30 credits (10 subjects per 3 credits) in the field of study. There is no thesis, but a short academic paper may be imposed before graduation if necessary. (2)

Academic Calendar The normal academic year consists of two 16-weeks semesters, usually including a week for midterm exam in each semester. Traditionally, the Academic Calendar is as follows: ◾The First Semester : August 01~November 31 (4 months) ◾Winter Vacation : December 01~January 31 (2 months) ◾The Second Semester : February 01~May 31 (4 months) ◾Summer Vacation : June 01~July 31 (2 months) IGSB Operation hours IGSB Office is open Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Most classes are taught Monday through Saturday on the online website. The each lesson will be opened for each week. It means that all the students must attend their class within every week to finish. Grading System IGSB employs a common set of marks to indicate student achievement in a course. The course syllabi detail specific requirements for each level of achievement. The following criteria are used in assigning a final grade:

Drop/Add Policy A student can drop or add a course during a designated “grace” period outlined in the academic calendar. After the drop/add deadline, enrollment in a course is no longer permitted. If a course is dropped within this period, it will not appear on the student’s transcript. The drop/add deadlines are as follows: 7 days after the start of each semester, as noted in the academic calendar. Students should also be aware of the tuition refund policy for dropped or withdrawn courses, which is detailed in the section titled “Tuition Refund of Dropped/Withdrawn Course.” Withdrawal from Course Policy After the Drop/Add deadline, a student may withdraw from a course with the registrar’s permission and will receive a “W” (withdrawn) on their transcript. Students must submit written petitions to the registrar to withdraw from a course, and these petitions must be made within specific deadlines: 5 weeks after the start

Attendance All students who take a degree course must listen to at least 90% of the three subjects uploaded to the school’s Internet platform for the semester to avoid errors in the subject. Please note that the percentage of time taken by students in each subject will be checked in the school platform system, so if you do not secure a 90% participation rate for each subject, you will be evaluated as a failure in that subject. Student Life and Conduct IGSB students come from diverse backgrounds in terms of age, previous employment, church affiliations, and nationalities, which enriches the community and fosters a supportive environment. Scholarships The seminary’s Scholarship Fund collects funds to be distributed as scholarships for students demonstrating financial need and academic potential. Our focus is to help students whose sending church/denomination/missionary does not have the resources to finance the student’s seminary education. The purpose of this needs-based scholarship program is to provide a medium for donors to give funds specifically for the support of seminarians, and for students to receive funds to assist with their theological education. In order to apply for scholarships, interested students must be accepted into a degree program and meet all of the requirements as listed by the individual scholarship. The Scholarship Committee meets every other month throughout the year. After a student is accepted, they can request a scholarship application and submit it to the seminary no less than two months prior to the beginning of a semester.
